It’s week 3 of the first class of Desert Media Art – and me just made our first group installation! Each of us made a one-pixel “story” that’s programmed on a battery powered CircuitPython board. Each device has it’s own processor, multi-colour LED, and battery. We put all of our artworks up on a wall in the lab (the picture doesn’t quite do it justice) to get our first experience of putting our work up together.
We already learned that if a device is battery-powered and portable we can put it up quickly, and started to see how the setting of a piece changes how the audience perceives it. Soon we’ll make our electronics more rugged and take them outside!
